This whole “explaining me” thing is not my necessarily my forte for the simple fact that I never know where to start, and also I don’t fit neatly in boxes. Free ranger.
I have lived to see two stars falling in the sky at the same time in different directions.
I have a doggy and he is my very beast friend.
Pleasure lies in the littlest of things.
Taking photos of misspelled English words while traveling abroad (ex: in Turkey I ate at a ‘Pitza Shop’) is a way that I get my kicks.
Swimmer, breather, absorber of music. It defines me, fills me, empties me. It’s everything.
I am at the mercy of musical notation… An insatiable beast. It’s my healthiest vice- and may haps my only vice? Which by default would make it simultaneously my most unhealthy one as well. Hmm.
Walking is where my heart becomes renewed, a daily ritual. Sanity maintainer. And yoga. And mi bicicletta… and and and. Lotsa tings like dis. Gotta give it up. Shout outs!
Exploring decrepit, dilapidated buildings and houses is my guilty pleasure… did I just find a vice?? and wavering and dipping and scooping and and and into both the mysteries and amazement of nature and the sexy, gritty, rawness of the city streets.
If I had some million dollars I would dedicate my life to travel, philanthropy, and probably fostering an orphaned elephant. I would save, and buy my parents a gorgeous house with lots of garden space and a big old wrap-around porch.
I would have apartments in NYC, SF, LA, DF, Buenos Aires & BCN, and you could probably stay with me if you are house broken, trust worthy, and provide evocative conversation, and close the lid to the toilet.
I would have a special farm program equipped with room and board, and employ worthy hobos, and record their tales, and practice in the dwindling art of story telling, keeping the flame alive for years and perhaps generations to come, collectively. Maybe that’s why I am doing this; for preservation and a creative diving board from which to spring.
The quest continues on. What started out as a promotional marketing idea for my hand made, unique stylings, fresh-to-def jewelry Pigeon Heart Designs, takes on multiple meanings, and will be worthy of a good watch, here on WordPress.
PS love long walks on the beach…
I love your writing, thank you for sharing. Alan 🙂
Thank you Alan! I am so glad ❤
I like who you be,makes a nice change to come across something different….
Thank ya, mista Jones (;
I appreciate that.
Why is it that we can have all these wonderful ideas for efficiently utilising hobos as a commodity, but governments won’t employ them? Bah!
Seriously. And why isn’t Vegas 100% solar? so many questions….
Thanks for reading (:
“Total music slut junkie baby.”
Well, I wouldn’t put it that way exactly, but I kinda get an idea of here you’re coming from.
That makes me suspect, doesn’t it?

Wow! An award!? Sweet! Thank you so much… What exactly is the Sunshine Award?
So I think you’ve been tagged by none other than Mr. Mary already, but I wanted to tag you again. Don’t feel pressured to answer the questions! Just accept my “tag” 🙂
Thanks mama! i want to participate and intend on it when I get an extra sec. You rawk.
yes, you might need to get 2-3 extra seconds. this tagging thing took a LONG time. take your time sweet pigeon 🙂
You are an exceptional writer, prose, poetry, quick quipped one-offs, you name it (and you do, so creatively). Thanks for liking my blog post. But like you, I blush easily. Kinda embareassed that you read my most recent poem, which I just threw out (or up) just to get it done and meet my self-imposed quota of Earth Poem A Day until Earth Day (thank Goddess only 3 weeks away!). Never write anything you feel like you have to apologize for, I suppose. No, I knows.
Wow- thank you very much. I will read more of your posts; do not fret. I am sure there is a lot to be found. Never write?
Just frettin’ that maybe you didn’t get that I was saying the “never write” thing to myself…not to you, ie, “JP (that be me), write what you mean, and mean what you write.” I mean it.
ah. gotcha. sounds about right. ‘preciate the advice.
Hello dear, I nominated you; enjoy:http://thesandytongue.wordpress.com/2012/04/27/tmi-most-embarrasing-night-involving-a-toilet/
Was going to ask you what makes you so awesome, then I read your Blog. Thank you.
Wow that is very kind and sweet. Thanks for writing that, reading my blog, and enjoying. (:
hey-ho, love your style, nice to have you ‘brighten’ my afternoons!!
aw shucks* thank you! (:
I love how you describe yourself here. You and I could TOTALLY be BFFs.
Yay! I love that. You are so cool. Let’s go have fun.
Ñahaha. You sound a little like some long lost twin sister of mine.
By the way. I found yr blog via googling the word ‘amigita’. Is that an appropriate term of endearment for a guy to call a long-lost good female friend who contacted him lately, to say she’s cool and special and all, in a non-romantic way? That is all the bilingual friendship advice I will ask today.
What do I like about you?
* On facebook I call myself a “free range human.”
* I luv wordplay, crazy signs, and double entendras. (Correct spelling optional…) And empanadas.
* Pigeonholes are for pigeons, far as I can tell.
* I caught a falling star once.
* One of the coolest questions any one (she worked as a journalist) ever asked me is: “so, tell me about *your* journey.”
* I have a dog and she’s my favorite bitch. She’s always happy to see me and when she barks or whines, she has an excuse — she’s a dog, after all.
* Music your only vice?! We gotta fix that somehow.
* Walking — awesome. Renew heart, clear head. Yoga I’ve tried a bit (kundalini » zoinks!!!)
* I used to bike like a madman before bike got stole and I had to get a car due to location and job.
* I’m nosy like you. I like underground stuff myself — basements, tunnels, caves — but anywhere I’m not “authorized” to be is a good place.
* “If I had some million dollars …. big old wrap-around porch”
The friendliest hood is always the one where the homes have porches.
* ” and have apartments in NYC, SF, LAX, DF, BCN, and Buenos Aires,”
I prefer just one nice place in the city and another in the country. Anyhow, no Chicago?! Now I’m beginning to question your taste and sophistication. Or maybe you just can’t take the cold? (;)
* “…house broken, trust worthy, and provide evocative conversation, and close the lid to the toilet.”
The seat or the lid? If the former — I don’t raise it anyway. As they say, real gun control is knowing how to aim.
“I would have a special farm program equipped with room and board, and employ worthy hobos..”
You’re not the only one who’s had that idea. Detox with organic food and stuff. I know some ppl who are doing that, in a small way, now; mulling the possibility of joining them for awhile, though their location is remote. It might be good for my soul.
I’m gonna give my thoughts also on your homeless/ nametag post. I hope you continue to work + hook up with others to realize your visions — will be glad to help inspire!
Ha! Wowwy! Your response is like a big shiny present with streamers and bunnies and ish!
I’m pumped that amigita lead you to me- how rad is that? Esp, bc the search bar says someone found me today by typing in “bushy bikini area” I kid you not! I’ve been thinking about compiling a post where I just write the most outlandish ways that people have come across my little blog-o-tech. Amazing. Yes- amigita is a term of endearment. You can call your long lost sister friend who you don’t wanna knock boots with that safely, but alas, with all spanish, there is always room for love because we are incredible romantics and you can call someone amigita and not put them off. It certainly doesn’t work along the likes of my ‘buddy’ theory. If I call you buddy, you are basically toast. Impenetrable metal panties. nah nah no thanks, buddy.
I love the free range human. The only kind I’ll eat. I consider myself a ‘life aprecionado’. Take that. Or a ‘life enthusiast’. Oh my gorgeous my twin word nerd- is it really you?? (I’m on fb too))
Empanadas are delish.
Pigeons are a tremendous topic and I will have to refer you to another posting where I lay down my shpiel. Shpeil? Shpeel. Schpeel. Fuck.
Here: https://pigeonheartponderings.wordpress.com/2011/09/22/todo-es-bueno/
You are pumped.
You caught a star. I am concerned. Do you have hands? I type with my face too!
Umm.
Dogs are the best. My dog is a peach. Fuzzy and sweet yummy cutie love love.
Do more yoga- get new bike! *Cling*
I’m currently reading a PHENOMENAL book: The Mole People by Jennifer Toth about the underground population of homeless in the deep tunnels of NYC. Can you say yummmm? And yuck too. For sure, yuck.
I don’t know Chicago well. I have 2 lovely friends to visit there. I’m not closed, but I wilt without close proximity to the ocean. Question me not, I am a classy bitch.
I’d love to scope the jazz/ blues scene there.
Um, don’t talk to me about your gun- we just met. And I cant think about someone’s “gun” who’s face is a keyboard anyway. I see your face smile though! Wow!
Yes, spread the word! Thanks for taking your time, I am touched, tickled, alladat.
New friend (:
Happy 2013! Just to keep it confusing, I have a newer blog on wordpress that I’m sposed to be shifting to:
ten spare brains
(Appropriate art to come)
That’s the official new one, even tho I sometimes still post to the (comically misnamed) old blog Live Active Culture, out of habit…I am really antosocial for a social media user. Help me break outta that!
I’m glad to be friends. I enjoy the company of the brainy/ zany.
“bushy bikini area” — too funny.
“It certainly doesn’t work along the likes of my ‘buddy’ theory. If I call you buddy, you are basically toast. Impenetrable metal panties. nah nah no thanks, buddy.”
Why is that? I have watched that show “Friend Zone” on mtv and I wonder why people (females more so than males) pigeonhole each other into these airtight boxes, almost instantly. Me, I would want my ideal mate to be my best friend, and when I am seriously looking, I insist on being friends first.
“I don’t wanna lose our wonderful friendship” — wha? You’re gonna lose it anyway because eventually you’re gonna pair off with others, and probably move away from each other. Take a leap of courage, I say.
“Aw, he/she’s like s brother/sister to me” — well what’s wrong with a little friend-cest?! Wouldn’t that taboo-breaking help to up the excitement factor?
“I love the free range human. The only kind I’ll eat.”
Hmm,,,,
I heard about the mole people book, haven’t gotten round to it, but thanks for the re-reminder that I gotta read it.
I’ve actually only been tourist-caving once, in KY, but I need to do more.
I’m always creeping into places where I don’t belong. It’s harder post 911, it seems, when this deepening official paranoia has set in … ‘See something if you say something’ and all that.
Chicago’s subway system is prob not a fifth as big as nyc’s but yet could be hiding some interesting secrets.
Come to Chicago, you have 3 lovely friends here now. Pretend the lake is an ocean. Imagine the salt smell.
I did smile…Glad I could touch and tickle you long-distance. I like to touch and tickle newfound friends, cuz I’m creepy like that.
(;
[…] the way, who was naked in the pantry? I am looking at you MissFourEyes. I know Pigeon Heart was probably in there too, giving you a full […]
Freshly pressed brought me here, but methinks I would very much like to stay and explore the rest of your posts. You seem to have an instinctual flair for description, and with an added undelrying feel running under it, you’ve defintely got a follower. 🙂
Ps. If you like being pun-ished as much as double entendred, you should pop over to my last post. It’ll give you food for though. 😛
Oh yay! Thanks, so glad you like and it feels good to be appreciated (:
Yes, I do like all those things that you mentioned and yes I will check out your biz!
Thanks duder.
Woot. d(^-^)b Have a good one! 🙂
Got here via freshly pressed – this is a spectacular piece of work – my “random searching” got me somewhere good. Best wishes.
Why thank you very much! Yes, random searches can certainly have some fantastic results. I think that applies across the board (:
Best to you as well!
hey, this is all great, love your easy, fluid style of prose. Particularly enjoyed stuff like: “…I would have a special farm program equipped with room and board, and employ worthy hobos, and record their tales, and practice in the dwindling art of story telling, keeping the flame alive… ” I hope you do some day. Let us know if you ever adopt a baby elephant too, they definitely have an appeal alright. That’s it, can’t think of anything else to say, except, I guess, keep that flame alive. (I suspect this / that is corny, but it is too late to self-edit now)
shoot, nah, it’s perfect. Thanks for the appreciation. It is a dream, all that stuff, for certain (:
Hot.
Haay.
thanks (;
Hey, just wanted to let you know my blog has moved- You were a follower of my old blog. Check out my new one if you’d like to continue as a follower. Thanks for the support! Much appreciated.
Definitely had to click on that “follow” button- your blog is great!
Much success!
-Andrew
Hey! Thanks so much. I truly appreciate that. I’ll hopefully catch the writing bug some more soon!
Best to you as well.
Hi! My name is Karelia Stetz-Waters. I am another one of the authors published in First Time. Lylah Katz (also in the anthology) and I are going to do a little reading and book launch in Corvallis, Oregon on November 15th. Would you be interested in joining us? You can Google me at my job at Linn Benton Community College (to make sure I’m not some creepy man living in a basement) and give me a call if you are interested.
Hi Karelia,
Thanks for tracking me down. A book launch sounds fun. Is it your book? Or is it for First Time? Can you tell me a few more details about it, including the time, and if you have any idea of what to expect in terms of turn out, and whatever else is pertinent. Would you want me to read my sordid sexy story or another? I have to look you up to recall which story was yours in the book. Such a fun idea.
So I’m not the only one with an orphaned elephant dream?
Greetings from the professor! How are you?
I’m sorry. I thought this blog would be more about the kiwi. I guess I’ll stick around, though.
ha! I gotcha.
And years later I show up to say g’day and I totally am taken bu your written expression. I’ll keep it short, because something tells me later you may not be able to quell my dam bursting verbals.
Fellow toilet lid closer,
Diana xo
Oh my goodness am so touched and the sentiment is the same! I’m enchanted by your writing! Please burst and spray all day!!
xoxo
Lisa
Then I’ll start as a morning mist that permeates your garden and leaves a light sparkle dew on your honeysuckle thoughts 😌💕
oh my goodness. yesss~
Hi
Thank you so much for finding my blog and liking a post. Hope you come back again soon
